Isaiah has extensive experience in banking and finance transactions, real estate projects, and corporate and commercial matters. He has advised clients on a wide range of banking and finance transactions, including syndicated finance, corporate finance, and debt restructuring.

He also has broad real estate experience, particularly in the structuring of mixed-use developments, multiple dwelling unit developments, joint ventures, and project finance arrangements.

In his corporate and commercial practice, Isaiah has advised various entities on corporate restructuring matters and strategic business reorganisations.

Isaiah has been ranked by IFLR1000 as a “Highly Regarded” Lawyer in Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Project Finance for four consecutive years: 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Selected Experience:

  • Major Real Estate Developer (Mombasa) – Mixed-use development project involving change-of-user approvals, project structuring, and negotiation of project finance facilities of KES 380 million with Shelter Afrique.
  • DIB Bank Kenya Limited – Shariah-compliant Ijara sale-and-leaseback financing transaction valued at KES 245 million in favour of a privately owned airline licensed by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) – Review of the proposed concession of selected operations and management functions at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport under a Privately Initiated Investment Proposal (PIIP), together with analysis of the legal and regulatory framework governing KAA’s financing and fundraising arrangements.
  • KCB Bank Kenya Limited – Multi-lender corporate finance transaction of USD 81.8 million extended to one of East Africa’s leading grain milling companies, including financing and security structuring considerations.
  • NIC Bank Kenya PLC – KES 4 billion financing transaction advanced to a leading logistics company, involving the structuring and perfection of security over properties located across multiple counties in Kenya.
