With over 20 years’ experience, Julien has a long-standing practice in Africa. He is involved in all types of transactions (fundraisings, acquisitions, disposals, mergers and JVs) in Africa and internationally, on behalf of major corporations, financial institutions, investment funds and entrepreneurs.
Before joining Asafo & Co., Julien worked in France and the United States, most recently at the law firm he founded, Cabinet Baubigeat, as well as at a number of international law firms, including Orrick, UGGC, Linklaters and Haynes & Boone.
Since 2017, Julien has been consistently recognised in the ranking of the top 100 most influential lawyers in French-speaking Africa, published by Africa Business Plus (Jeune Afrique group).

- Advising One Holding in its investment in an Oil and Gaz consortium (Ivory Coast).
- Advising Quantum Capital (Luxemburg re-insurance fund) in an arbitration against an Ivorian company.
- Advising Lagardère Travel Retail in various partnerships in Africa (Benin, Cameroun…) for the exploitation of duty-free shops in African airports.
- Advising Tianshan (Chinese listed group) and its subsidiaries in the acquisition of a controlling stake in a Guinean bauxite mining company.
- Advising Atiko (Neemba) and Jean-Luc Konan in the acquisition of the Caterpillar dealership for all West Africa.
- Advising Quantum Capital (Luxemburg re-insurance fund) for the sale of its stake in Avenir Ré (Ivorian re insurance company).
- Advising Massena Finances and its subsidiaries in several real estate sales in Ivory Coast.
- Advising the management of Les Centaures Routiers (Ivorian transport company) in the restructuring of its debt and its shareholding with Africinvest.
- Advising IDC (Senegalese mining and drilling company) in its fundraising subscribed by ADIWALE investment fund.
